Born and raised in the “City Lincoln Loved,” Springfield, Illinois, Derrick Jones is a Washington, DC-based storyteller with a background as a designer, event planner, stage manager, fundraiser, and communications and social media guru. He has more than 25 years of experience designing and executing marketing, fundraising, and public relations campaigns on a local, state, and national level.

His advertising experience is diverse in size and scope: national, state, and local branding and advertising campaigns, promotional materials, programming materials (including political mailers and direct mail packages), and membership materials (including newsletters and other member-oriented communications.  His ads have been published in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post, Roll Call, The Hill, and The Washington Times, among others.

Derrick’s training as a stage manager and production manager gave him a jump-start into the world of event planning. He has used that training in his work with small and large clients to produce events, conventions and fundraising receptions; helping his clients tell their stories and raise millions of dollars for their missions.

Derrick is a life-long Chicago Cubs fan (and long-suffering one until 2016 when the Cubs won the World Series). He is a a graduate of The Catholic University of America with a degree in drama and a proud defender of the Oxford comma.
